The dining room at Maison Lumière, lit by candlelight

Modern French · West Village, New York

Dinner worth leaving the house for.

A small dining room, a short menu, and a kitchen that cooks the way you'd cook if you had all day. Reserve a table — or plan the dinner before the dinner in our private room.

Holiday & private event booking is open now for November & December

The Signature

One dish the room is known for.

The Seared Duck Breast. Cherry gastrique cut with vinegar, parsnip purée, a single charred shallot. It has been on the menu since the night we opened, and it is the dish guests come back for.

Chef Élise Moreau cooks the way she was taught in Lyon — short menus, seasonal produce, no tricks for their own sake. The room is small on purpose. The ritual is the point.

The Room

Three spaces, three reasons to book.

The dining room, the chef's counter, and a private room. Each one a different way to spend an evening here.

The Dining Room

Seats 48

The Dining Room

The main room. Candlelight, charcoal walls, and a view of the open kitchen. Where most evenings begin.

The Chef's Counter

Seats 10

The Chef's Counter

Front-row to the pass. A tasting paced by the kitchen, course by course. Best seat in the house for a solo or pair.

The Private Room

Seats 8–24

The Private Room

A separate room for the table that matters — rehearsal dinners, milestones, the dinner before the dinner.

Private Events

The dinner before the dinner.

Holiday parties, rehearsal dinners, corporate dinners, the milestone that deserves its own room. Our private room seats 8 to 24, with a set menu built around your table.

The booking window for November and December is open now. We hold a limited number of dates — earlier is genuinely easier, not just something we say.
